Learning happens through hard work and perseverance. But too often our students are quick to give up and say "I can't" and "I don't get it." Students have to be willing to roll up their sleeves and do the heavy lifting in the classroom. How can we as educators build perseverance in our students?
Our mission:
1. Build perseverance in Illinois students.
2. Support Illinois Educators in building perseverance in their students.
3. Celebrate examples of perseverance (local, not-local, and diverse).

Examples from Illinois Classrooms:
Krystal Clifton, a middle school teacher at Kankakee School District #111, shared this project with us. Students were asked to find someone who had demonstrated perseverance and then create a display that prompted their classmates to contemplate what would have happened had they given up. She shared that her students were very engaged and motivated by this project and that they refer back to these examples daily.
